India is a great country. India is a mixture of multitudinous cultures .

What makes India so special?

The following story would help you get a cue.

About two centuries ago, the Pope of Rome made a tall proclamation that all the Jews had to leave the city. There was a big uproar in the city and all Jews were worried.

So the Pope made a deal with the Jews

“Let us have a religious debate. If I win, you have to leave the city—and if you win- you can very well stay back in this great city of Rome”. The Jews tried looking out for a champion who can defeat the pope in this religious battle but couldn’t find any.

They finally turned towards an old frail and feeble farmer named MOISHE and pleaded “Moishe- you have got nothing to lose- you have to challenge the pope”. “Brothers, I’m very old and I’ve got no subjective knowledge of religions- I think this is an ill favored thing brothers- an ill favored thing- but, as you are insisting- I have nothing to lose – so let me have a SILENT DEBATE with the pope”, replied Moishe.

Fortunately, the pope agreed for a silent debate.

It was an auspicious day with  royal members all around and 2 beautiful chairs laid down for the Pope and Moishe and that signaled the start of the great silent debate.

  • After a minute the Pope raised his hand and showed three fingers. Moshe looked back and raised one finger.
  • The Pope waved his fingers in a circle around his head. Moishe pointed to the ground.
  • The Pope pulled out a wafer and a glass of wine. Moishe pulled out an apple.

The Pope stood up and said, “I give up. This man is too good. The Jews can stay.”

All the royal members gathered around the pope and asked him why did he lose the debate?

As the puzzled cardinals clustered around the Pope, he explained: “First I held up three fingers to represent the Trinity. He held up one finger to remind me that one God is common to both our religions. When I waved my finger around me to show that God was all around us, he pointed down to show that God is also right here with us. When I showed him the wine and the wafer to show that God absolves us from our sins, he showed me an apple to remind me of original sin. He had an answer for everything. What could I do?”

Meanwhile, the Jews had crowded around Moshe. “What happened?” they asked. “Well,” said Moshe, “He says to me, ‘You Jews have three days to leave.’ So I said: ‘Not even one is going to leave!'” Then he tells me the whole city would be cleared of Jews. So I said to him, ‘Listen here, Popey baby, the Jews … we stay right here.” “And then?” asked a woman. “Who knows?” said Moshe. “He took out his lunch so I took out mine.

This is how the debate got concluded and Jews were allowed to stay in the city of Rome.

This story brings the fact as to how we bring our own interpretations into our daily discussions and debate. We’ve got so many drawing lines in the sand many divisions everywhere on the subject of thoughts beliefs and actions. I don’t like what you say and you don’t like what I say and so we have got the liberty to fight with each other.

The question is how do we control this? …We can control this only through a great sense of diplomacy and interfaith. What is this interfaith? …. If a person A has got a liberty to demonstrate his conviction in spite of the fact that B believes in something different & still A & B  live in peace and harmony- that is interfaith.

This is what India is famous for.

Let us all agree to disagree on various issues but still learn to live in peace and harmony.

G – O- YAY

In the olden days, people who sacrificed their food, family and health were called Saints….and today, they are called Software Engineers.

A software engineer’s son, keeps on pestering his mom for a quite long time. His mom gets irritated and shouts at him saying ” How many times should i tell you that ” YOU ARE BORN, AND NOT DOWNLOADED”.

Well, these are some of the freakiest jokes found in the internet. Keeping aside the jokes, one needs to know why and what is making people create a overdosed mockery on the software engineers. To know this, Ive conducted a small survey on few of my friends and few colleagues at my office as part of my project “Research your Project” for “Toastmasters International”. The results were like this :

60 % –  Said that, they are not happy with their job.
80% –   Sitting before their computer ,at times question themselves:
                What the hell I’m doing here” ? ? ? ?
40% –    Feel that they are at a wrong place
100% suffer from eating and sleeping disorders
80% – Feel that they are unable to pursue their passion, due to over work
70%-  Feel, that they are not able to spend time with their family.
60% – Use corporate  language in the course of their daily conversation
2/3 managers, faced a situation wherein they were bound, to say a few people – “ don’t come to me saying you don’t know what you are doing?”

People feel that the so-called software engineers are a bunch of aliens living in a microcosm called Software. These people are imbibed with abounding technical terms and corporate ways of doing/treating things. They display them wherever they go which creates an outlandish and awful impression on others.

There are many people in my project area, who work for 24/7, even on Saturdays I wonder what his family thinks about him. His wife might be saying to their kids-“the uncle in this photo is your dad, he comes home when you are asleep, go and play with him, if you miss him today, u can only see him only on next Sunday”.  This is a dangerous deception wherein we are caught, and slowly sailing away from the feel of reality and human love.

They kickstart a day with a computer and end it with a computer. Their greatest happiness is an appreciation mailer from their client. Their greatest fear is an escalation mailer to manager.

Their life is  3 MUCH, with 3 TASKS, 6 MEETINGS and 9 COFFEE. They get money, appreciations and accolades on one side, but they slowly move farther from the essence of family life, passion, and good health.

All their emotions, be it action, sentiment, romance, tragedy…are hidden in their emails. And when they look back in life, they are left with nothing but a bunch of machines wherein all their memories are treasured.

THE WORLD LAUGHS AT YOU, WHEN YOU DONT LAUGH AT YOURSELF. Start laughing at yourself, as ive been doing it since the past 10 minutes writing this article. Balance your, work, family, and health. Give equal importance to all. Get closer to human world.

Life’s Little Surprise..

“Please do visit my blog”….”Please give feedback on my blog”…..”Please do comment on my posts”…my both ears used to get shot by these frequent remarks by my friends. I wondered what is this blogging all about and why people are so crazy about it. Google came to my rescue enlightening me that a blog is a space which can be filled with one’s own thoughts and persuasions and can be publicized.

Utterly absorbed by those blog remarks…the feeling of jealousy had a clung on my shoulders like a garment , and i started my web journey along with my mate Google in search of a blog. And at last, i had my blog. I searched for some word press blogs and got some. Among them i found something special in one of the blog. It didn’t had any complex writings which people find difficult to read.It very classy and filled with some smooth articles which upon reading gave me a feeling of cool wind blowing around my head.

I didn’t step back to comment on those entries and truly appreciated them. Next day, a girl responded with a simple comment thanking me for that. I could find that she was Archana Dixit the owner of the blog. I started my blog, by copying some of her writing and ideas. She was my prime UN-welcomed  mentor.

Days passed on, i became busy with college stuff and some other avocations, and then the still interest of blogging evaporated like a wan ghost out of my existence. And i completely lost grip on blogging. But i couldn’t get a proper chance of thanking that girl for having unknowingly shown me ways to blog.

Time went by, and after a long span of 1464 days that is, 4 years, things got changed and i joined Computer Sciences Corporation @ Chennai. Later i was taken into as one of the member of the editorial board of an E-Magazine by the name “Insurance Insider”. All my blogger interests were washed away, nothing more than a pail of sand left by a careless child too near a sea. I didn’t care to open my blog which was isolated since 4years and scattered like  wind-blown leaves.

One fine day, i was called for a meeting to discuss the on-going proceedings on the E-Magazine. I saw a name in the invitees list, which made my mouth open in shock as if Ive seen a raising volcano before my eyes. It was “Archana Dixit”. After the meeting is ended, i went up to the Designer of the magazine and asked him if he knows this girl. He responded saying, that shes a member of the editorial team and that she works for the magazine.

I, immediately, opened our internal chatting messenger and started looking out for  her name. Lots of  thoughts were running through my mind, posing me curious questions ..”is that the same blogger girl you met 4 years back?”…”what happens if she is not?”….I initially thought even if she is not the one i was searching for…lets take a try..i must take the risk as a soldier must face the bullets.

I pinged her asking if she was the one…and waited for her response with my eyes wide open and my fingers tapping the keyboard rock and roll. A BIG SMILE came as a reply. I was a happy guy more than a fat kid with a wholesome of cake in his hands. The i told her that i used to follow her blog and that im very happy that i could meet her in this untold horrific fashion. It was a memorable experience.

I  was happy that i could meet my “blog-guru” in this fashion after a long gap of 1464 days and who interestingly turned out to be my colleague in my work place.  This  story to me means a plot where there is some little surprise. Because that is how life is…….

This post is an inspiration from the episodes of many great people who were great “Failures” once…

Success is the most interesting, and a beautiful word that everyone wants to have in their book called  LIFE again and again.

Failure is a word, which most of us want to rub away or at least dont want to write in our book called LIFE.

Success rather brings lots of enthusiasm, great amount of power, morale and royalty. We feel like we are on the top of a mountain playing with clouds. Failure brings us into despair, leads us to utter dejection, ruins us, shatters us and shows us what it means to live in a hell.

Many people feel that failures should not be a part of their life and that it should be failure free life. Some people fight with their failures, and after having fought enough they escape paving their way into some other alternative. Some people “QUIT” after fighting from failures, and end their life. Some people cry cry and cry in the ocean of sadness and get used to it.

This lady was dismissed from her drama school, because her teachers criticized her that she was very shy in acting, and cant get her foot ahead for good acting, and she was devoid of good acting skills.

She read her failures and went on to become an All time great American comedienne, film, television, radio actress, and holds a special identity for having one of the most longest careers in Hollywood. Shes “Lucille Ball”

The following rock band was turned down, it was forced to shut down, as it has a poor quality of sound output, and the guitars they used were not impressive and outdated.

The troop Read their failures, and went on with their life to emerge as the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed acts in the history of popular music in the world. Its “THE BEATLES”

This boy was dropped from his school basket ball team, as he was not able to put the ball in the basket. He locked himself in a room, cried cried and cried  in utter despair. He was criticized badly by his team members by not allowing him to pass on the ball during matches. He was injured several times and missed 64 straight matches. He couldn’t throw the ball into the basket in many final matches.

He read from his failures, went on with his life and won 40 awards in the world of NBA(National Basketball Association), won 2 olympic gold medals, and now is a LEGEND in the world of basket ball.

He is Michael Jordan ( A Basketball Legend)

This boy was exclaimed as “STUPID TO LEARN ANYTHING”, and can never ever be successful in his life by his teacher. He later on emerged as the “Godfather of Light”, he gave the sunshine to everyone. He failed 999 times while in the process of inventing THE BULB. He succeeded the 1000th time. He is THOMAS ALVA EDISON( The man who invented bulb)

This guy was fired from a newspaper agency, because he HAS NO IMAGINATION AND CANNOT THINK ON HIS OWN.He went on to become the ALL TIME BEST-CREATIVE DIRECTORS OF THE WORLD. He is SIR WALT DISNEY (Creator of the cartoon- Disney World.

His Fiancee expired, He failed in business for 2 times, he lost in elections for 8 times, he had a serious nervous breakdown, he was let down completely by failures, still he went on his way to become THE PRESIDENT OF UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

He is Sir Abraham Lincoln

Failures are a chance to learn and transform ourselves. Failures squeeze us and expose us neat and clean like a washing machine.

CrEaTiViTy. One of the most misunderstood words in the history of lexicography.CrEaTiViTy is simply inventing some psychological constructs of our own, the art of turning ideas into reality.People in the past used to believe that CrEaTiViTy is really far away from the myths of reality and natural thoughts of people. They used to believe that CrEaTiViTy to people came from a distant noble source and is only gifted to some people, And the Greeks called these “some people” as DAEMONS.The Romans exclaimed them as “GENIUS”.

But as days passed on, Man was kept in the center of universe above all gods and rational humanism  came into practice. Then it became easy for people to absorb that being creative is not a big deal.

Creativity is not a big task, its not like asking someone to swallow the just comes from our thoughts. Say, when you are walking alongside a seashore, the winsome sounds of waves, the buzz of the breeze, the flutter-flatter of the flies, or the silent sky, when all these wonderment’s are glimpsed for a moment, anything could bring out extraordinary thoughts out of the most exquisite part portion of your life. When asked whats creativity, my brother says  “its like when someone asks you to explain to the students that a COW HAS FOUR LEGS..RATHER THAN SHOUTING AND TELLING THEM THAT A COW HAS FOUR LEGS…U SHOULD DRAW THE PICTURE OF A COW AND ASK THE STUDENTS TO COUNT HOW MANY LEGS IT HAS”

The sense of creativity shows you in enlarged mirror. We STAY SPECIAL among many. Its like “when you are like a drop of water, in a sea/ocean, your identity is rattled  and shattled, you are with similar kind of countless water drops, which are together known as a sea/ocean. BUT when the same drop of water is on a lotus petal, it is regarded as a waterdrop because it shines and brings beauty to the lotus”. Being Creative is the same.

Creativity is of two types: One of them evolves out of conscientious thoughts which generates a different world and characters which depict their creativity. Certain advertisements follow this:

SOME OF THE COMPANIES LISTED BELOW with their smart and clever utilization of things around them excavated creativity, and thus became popular.Adopting someones techniques into yours and combining both and presenting could also be creativity, its just creating a typical impression on others so that they could say a big “WOW”.

Creativity cant be learnt directly, it shld be initially adopted, then can be learned. If u come out of your senses for some time being and throw it on things around u, books around u, nature around u, you could land up in the world of CREATIONISTS. Its just being someone different from others. So just think about it….

I Always Wanted to be….

“When i grow up, I would become a Doctor…Engineer..Police…IAS,…IPS.” these are the words which are exclaimed by us when we are very tiny and small, twingling our tounges up and down happily. We neither know what the profession is, nor what we are going to do, but still we say them.

Most of us in our lives are being controlled by many factors around us.“WE LIVE THE LIFE OF A PERSON, THAT WE WERE TOLD”. We lack individuality. We lack that stubborn enthusiasm of taking our own choosen path. We find ourselves impotent of doing so. We do certain things in our life because someone said it suits us, and that it has more opportunities. We never go by our own choosen way.

MY chemistry sir “Mr.Kaushal” always used to say “ALL ARE BORN WITH EQUAL INTELLIGENCE..THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS, HOW THEY USE IT”. As far as i believe, every one has a unique gift given to them. But many factors around us hinder it from uncovering it. A true conqueror is one, who knows what it is, and uses it effectively to make a contribution to the world.

The most unfortunate thing is that we really dont know what our passion is upto some point of time in our life. BUT A DAY COMES IN OUR LIFE WHEN SITUATIONS BECOME CLOUDY. TIME RUNS AWAY LIKE A BIRD AND UNDER THE REALM OF A DRYING SUN, WE NEED TO DECIDE OUR FATE, WHICH MAKES US READY FOR THE SO CALLED JOURNEY CALLED “LIFE”. This is more or less a point of realization in one’s life.

The one who understands himself and follows his passion from this “point of realization” enjoys Superhuman SpLendour and says “LIFE IS A GAME, LETS PLAY”…and the one who still gets crubbed with others rules and cant follow his passion ,gets into Mundane Debris and says “LIFE IS A COMPROMISE”

“There’s only one damn person in this entire world who knows everything about you…and its YOU. No one else can make it out.You are the only person who knows your strengths and weakness. When any crucial situation welcomes us and when there are many options before us, we ask many people around us to suggest a suitable option and become a prey to their decision. The most unfortunate thing here is that we dont ask ourselves. If we could ask ourselves, pick up the best option at which we think we can excel, no one can stop us. “GREAT DANCERS ARE GREAT NOT GREAT BECAUSE OF THEIR DANCE, THEY ARE GREAT BECAUSE OF THEIR PASSION”

“I dropped the word career from my life at the age of 24. Careers are constricting, i just went away where the wind blew, i call my life as an adventure”..These are words of BILL GATES.
BILL GATES- A young lad inspite of being dropped away from school, could leave his ego follow his passion and interest for computers and could become of the most admired entrepreneurs of the world.

Mohan das Karam Chand Gandhi, A law student from london, left all his ego ,educational degree, monetary pleasures, and strived towards his passion and went into DESPAIR DARKNESS to pull people out of it, and thus became the “MOST PHENOMENAL LEADER OF THE CONTEMPORARY INDIA AND THE FATHER OF THE NATION”

There are some things that money cant buy, the most important of all is happiness. One becomes happy, when he truly does what he always wanted to do. With happiness you can earn money, but with money you cant buy happiness.

On contrary, if we always live for others and always follow others paths, and listen and act accordingly to their ideas and ideologies, nothing hampers our growth, life goes on as it is. There comes a time when we become old and frail, and have lived enough of life, and then a thought always bothers us. We do everything for others, we give a great life to our loved ones, we give money to our children, we make our parents happy, BUT, we could do nothing for ourselves, we couldnt do, what we have always wanted to do. THIS LIFE IS OURS…AND WE HAVE LIVED IT FOR OTHERS satisfying ourselves for others needs.

Even if you realise your passion at this point of time, and think of following your passion.. even god cant save u or make you to follow your passion because “YOU CANNOT GO INTO THE PAST, AS LIFE HAS NO REPLAY, YOU CANT DO IT IN FUTURE AS U HAVE NOT MUCH OF LIFE LEFT”

Realise what you want, understand your passion, follow it and ENJOY THE PLEASURE OF DOING, WHAT YOU HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO DO. All cannot become BILL GATES or GANDHIJI’S, but following your passion and thereby succeeding makes you a KING for yourself.
